1. Disability Support Services (DSS) subsidy and funding schemes

In New Zealand, the Disability Support Services (DSS) has two schemes1 designed to assist New Zealand residents getting hearing aids.

Depending on your circumstances and your type of hearing loss, you may qualify for the DSS Hearing Aid Funding Scheme or the DSS Hearing Aid Subsidy Scheme.

2. Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)

You may be eligible for a funding contribution for hearing aids through ACC, if your hearing loss is as a result of prolonged workplace noise exposure or is attributed to a treatment injury or a traumatic event1.
