You might be wondering what takes place at a hearing test, such as what types of tests you’ll take and what you can expect to learn. We have three types of tests in our clinics, these are; An AMTAS - computer test using specific hearing software (15 mins), a Screening test with a Clinician (30 mins) and a full test with a Clinician (60 mins).

Our brief guide below will provide you with a step by step guide of the full test.

1. Congratulations! You’ve booked your hearing test.

You’ve just taken the most important step to better hearing. We recommend bringing a friend or family member with you to your appointment.

2. Discuss hearing concerns, medical history, and lifestyle factors

Your clinician will begin by asking you about your health history in order to get to know you as an individual, which can help the clinician tailor a solution to your needs

3. Physical ear examination

Your clinician will conduct a visual exam of your ears to check for any earwax blockages or other irregularities.

4. Comprehensive hearing test

Your appointment will include a series of tests – such as listening to tone, speech and a middle ear test. These tests will measure various elements of your hearing in order to gain a thorough understanding of the condition of your hearing.
